Kevin and Thom today with a loaded buffet for free! Plenty of reaction to the latest Commanders’ sale news that includes a Fox Business report that Snyder is okay selling to Jeff Bezos. The boys reacted to Taylor Heinicke’s farewell letter in The Players Tribune. Kevin weighed in on “Ted Lasso” Season 3 so far. Thom likes Bob Odenkirk’s “Lucky Hank”. Ed Cooley’s Georgetown introductory presser included a National Championship prediction and a Maryland-Georgetown ‘wait and see’ approach. All of that and more on today’s 5-star show!
Kevin started the show with new Commanders’ sale news reported earlier today by ESPN. Ben Standig jumped on to talk more “football” than “sale”. Tim Murray called in to help handicap the “Sweet 16”. And DC Touchdown Club/Military Bowl Chair Steve Beck was a guest to discuss a star-studded event in town on April 13th that will include Steve Spurrier, Dexter Manley, Scott Van Pelt and more.
Kevin and Thom with their reaction to the story that Magic Johnson has joined the Josh Harris bid to buy the Commanders. Both Kevin and Thom had additional thoughts and news to share on the potential sale as well. More reaction to Ed Cooley taking the Georgetown job, Cam Sims is off to Vegas, and Thom isn’t backing down from his Taylor Heinicke was “betrayed” stance. Additionally, the boys discussed the perils of helping 2nd graders fill out their NCAA Brackets.
Kevin opened the show with today’s breaking news that Ed Cooley will become the new Georgetown Head Basketball Coach replacing Patrick Ewing. Kevin talked Commanders’ sale news and the Terps’ loss to Alabama in the open as well. Then it was ESPN’s Stanford Steve Coughlin jumping on to talk NCAA Tournament, the NFL Draft, and Sam Howell.
Kevin opened with thoughts on Maryland’s NCAA Tournament first-round win over West Virginia. He had Chris Knoche on from Birmingham to recap the big win and preview tomorrow’s 2nd-round matchup against the #1-seed in the tournament, Alabama. Kevin had Zac Jackson who covers the Cleveland Browns for The Athletic on the show to talk about Jacoby Brissett. Zac has really good information including describing Brissett as “hilarious”. Taylor Heinicke spoke in Atlanta and Kevin has five more NCAA “Smell Test” picks to finish up.
Kevin and Thom today with plenty on Washington adding QB Jacoby Brissett via free agency. Kevin went through his annual exercise of reducing the NCAA Tournament field from 68 down to 4 teams that have the best chance to win the National Championship. The boys picked their Final 4, a few first-round upsets, and Kevin has six “Smell Test” picks for today’s first-round action.
