Kevin opened with reaction to the Josh Allen-led Buffalo win over Detroit last night. He previewed/picked Maryland-Virginia Tech, gave his keys and prediction for Washington-Dallas on Sunday, and remembered Georgetown great Michael Sweetney. Jay Gruden jumped on with thoughts on the Commanders’ loss in Philly in week 1 before previewing and picking Skins-Cowboys. Jay also talked about a few of the other big NFL games and gave out his “NFL Lock of the Week” (1-0 ATS). Kevin finished up the show with 12 “Smell Test” picks (9-2-1 ATS).

Kevin and Thom today opened with their thoughts on what it would be like to live in Buffalo. That led to a conversation about Bob McAdoo and then Elvin Hayes. Kevin reacted to some of what Commanders’ OC David Blough said today including what he said about the “spacing” problem against the Eagles. The boys talked about the state of the Dallas-Washington rivalry which has dwindled in importance in recent years. They shared their thoughts on the Alex Ovechkin-Putin ad controversy, the Arch Manning-Holly Rowe viral video storm, and Thom had his Skins-Cowboys prediction.

Kevin opened with thoughts on the Mikey Sainristil situation. Dan Quinn was asked multiple questions today about his performance against the Eagles and how he intends to deal with it. Sainristil himself spoke about his play Sunday in Philly as well and Kevin played and reacted to that. Nicki Jhabvala/The Athletic jumped on to talk about the Commanders including her thoughts on whether or not the team should be interested in Joey Porter Jr. who appears to be on the trade block in Pittsburgh. Mickey Spagnola/DallasCowboys.com joined Kevin to talk about the Skins-Cowboys matchup on Sunday. Kevin finished up with Sam Cosmi’s shot at fans/media and an interesting data point or two about Jayden Daniels “under-center” against the Eagles.

Kevin and Thom today with a lot more on Washington’s 24-22 loss Sunday in Philadelphia. Thom compared Commanders’ OC David Blough’s 2-pt conversion play-call to the scene in the movie Hoosiers when coach Norman Dale first suggests running the picket fence play instead of giving Jimmy Chitwood the final shot. The boys talked Terry McLaurin and why he only got targeted four times against the Eagles. Also, their reaction to the Chiefs win over the Broncos on Monday Night Football and Virginia Tech head coach James Franklin’s weird exchange with a reporter yesterday as the Hokies get ready to play Maryland on Saturday night.

Kevin, upon further review, had even more on the season-opening loss to the Eagles yesterday than he did in last night’s postgame recap. Lots of Dan Quinn on today’s show with his reflections of the 2-point play along with his description of Mikey Sanristil’s poor game. Kevin added a major “clock management” element to his “game-take” and recapped a crazy first Sunday in the NFL.
