Kevin and Thom today with a menu of excellence featuring a buffet of conversation delicacies including but not limited to: 1) Michael Penix Jr.’s performance last night in Washington’s win over Texas. 2) Left-handed quarterbacks 3) Should Josh Harris be held accountable for this week’s starting lineup? 4) Thom’s road trip to Destin and his satellite radio introduction. 5) Commanders-49ers follow up 6) Christmas decorations take-down 7) Terps-Purdue.

Kevin opened with the breaking news that Jacoby Brissett’s first start is questionable because of a hamstring injury. He talked Browns/Flacco over the Jets and then had his 49ers preview and pick. Jay Gruden was up next with thoughts on the decision to bench Howell for Brissett before giving out his “NFL Lock of the Week” which is now 10-4 ATS. Kevin had 10 “Smell Test” picks as well.

After some Christmas and pocket-watch talk, Kevin and Thom talked about the amazing and very quick story turn on Sam Howell. From “Howell project is going well” to it coming to an abrupt end in barely a month is rather stunning. The guys talked a lot about that and then contemplated the possibility that the season-ender against Dallas might mean nothing for the Cowboys so….would it be justified for owner Josh Harris to request that Jake Fromm and other practice squad players play in that game? Plenty more on the QB situation including thoughts on Eric Bieniemy. Also on the show, the NFL HOF list is down to 15, Kevin had an early Thursday “Smell Test” pick, Thom picked the Commanders-49ers game, there were a few movie suggestions, and the Van Natta story was discussed as well.
