Kevin opened the show with the report from The Fan 106.7 that Maryland’s top choice to be its new basketball coach next year is Rick Pitino. Kevin talked NFL Indy Combine news and discussed some of what Martin Mayhew said today and Ron Rivera said yesterday. Kevin had former Pitt OC/QB Coach Mark Whipple on the show to talk about his time as Kenny Pickett’s coach the last few years. Also, John Dahl/Exec Producer of “The Tournament” joined the show to talk about Kevin’s latest favorite documentary about the history of the ACC Basketball Tournament.
Kevin and Thom today on the WUSA TV-9 report that the new Washington football stadium is focused on three different site locations including “Site Plan A” which is located in Dumfries, Virginia. Also, news from ESPN’s Dianna Russini who told Kevin on his Team 980 radio show that Aaron Rodgers would say “no” on a trade to Washington. The boys talked about Doug Williams’ comments about Art Briles taking the OC job at Doug’s alma mater. They also discussed the predicament facing Alex Ovechkin, a long-time supporter of Vladimir Putin.
Kevin opened with a QB name that hasn’t been discussed that much….Andy Dalton. Then it was Phil Mackey/Purple Daily-Minnesota joining Kevin as they compared notes on the two NFL fan bases that have one major thing in common…..the Kirk Cousins experience. Lastly, Hall of Famer Gary Williams was on to talk about the 20-year anniversary of Maryland’s 2002 National Championship team. The 2002 Terps will be celebrated Sunday at XFinity Center.
Kevin had Ben Standig on the show after Ben interviewed Ron Rivera for The Athletic. The guys discussed an interesting answer from Rivera about what the QB depth chart will look like next year. They also talked about the current Washington free agents and how many of them are likely to re-sign and stay in DC. They discussed briefly the conclusion to the “Crest” controversy and then Kevin finished the show with why two teams in the NFC East would be better trade partners for Seattle if they decide to trade Russell Wilson.
Kevin and Thom ranked Michael Scott’s female love interests from “The Office” before answering whether or not Carson Wentz would be a good get for Washington. They talked the latest on Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and took exceptions to ESPN’s ranking of the Top 75 NBA players of all time.
Kevin looks into the new investigation the NFL has launched into the latest Dan Snyder allegation(s) with Howard Gutman (long-time DC attorney/former Ambassador to Belgium). Also, some really good intel/conversation on the Brian Flores racial discrimination lawsuit against the NFL and whether or not Stephen Ross (Dolphins owner) could be in big trouble if it’s proven he offered $100k to Flores to lose games. Chris Knoche was on the show as well to talk about the Juwan Howard-Greg Gard incident yesterday. Kevin and Chris also on the college hoops season and the Terps.
