Kevin on will they go to Wentz and if so, when? Ben Standig weighed in on the Wentz question as well before the guys got to some Washington Commanders’ mid-season awards/questions. Scott Van Pelt jumped on to talk College Football Playoff Rankings, Terps’ Football & Basketball, and he made a mid-season Super Bowl pick too.
Kevin touched on several topics in the open including a) Matthew McConaughy’s desire to join the Bezos/Jay Z bid for the team, b) the Wizards’ win, c) another Ovechkin goal, d) Kevin Willard’s debut as Maryland’s coach, and e) “Upon Further Review” of the loss to the Vikings, Kevin thinks the criticism of OC Scott Turner might be a little over the top. Additionally, while Ron Rivera was upset over the penalty called against John Ridgeway on Minnesota’s first FG attempt, Kevin thinks there’s a strategy decision on that play that Rivera and staff got wrong. Nick Akridge/Pro Football Focus jumped on and talked about some of the PFF grades for Washington players on Sunday including how Taylor Heinicke played. Kevin and Nick talked NFL and had some Super Bowl predictions at the halfway mark of the season.

Kevin also had a Top 10 list of things he wants in a new owner of the team. He got the news of Dave Butz’ passing as he was recording and had some thoughts on the legendary Skins’ defensive tackle. Clinton Portis jumped on to talk College Football, the Commanders, and NFL. Then it was the Vikings’ perspective from Phil Mackey/Purple Daily who jumped on to talk Kirk Cousins, Kevin O’Connell, and give his thoughts on Sunday’s matchup. Kevin finished up with his “Smell Test” picks for the weekend.
