Kevin today on the beginning of a week that should mark the last for Dan Snyder as owner of the Washington Commanders. Kevin also played and discussed Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes’ comments over the weekend about losing Eric Bieniemy. Legendary Washington Post reporter/editor Len Shapiro jumped on with Kevin to talk about covering Snyder during the early days. During their conversation, Shapiro mentioned that before his passing, Jack Kent Cooke was considering changing the name of the team.

Kevin opened with some NFL talk and then he got to the Netflix “Quarterback” series updating his discussion about Eric Bieniemy from yesterday. Steve Czaban jumped on to talk about the end of Dan Snyder and more.

Kevin opened with thoughts on the Washington Post story that described ‘snags’ that could complicate Dan Snyder’s sale of the Commanders to Josh Harris. He also shared his big Commanders-related takeaway from the Netflix series “Quarterback”. Then it was Washington Nationals’ GM Mike Rizzo jumping on as a guest. Ben Standig/The Athletic followed.

Kevin and Thom today on the Don Van Natta/Seth Wickersham ESPN story on how the Jon Gruden email leaks doomed Dan Snyder. As the boys have surmised since late 2021, Snyder’s probable self-sabotaging leaks of the Gruden emails to the Wall Street Journal and the NY Times was the beginning of the end for his ownership. The guys reacted to the story blow-by-blow. They also discussed the Commanders’ twitter direct message to another twitter account about its name (Washington Redskins) and handle (@washredskinsnfl). The boys talked some MLB All-Star game, followed up on Kevin’s conversation yesterday with Jay Gruden, and celebrated Joe Jacoby’s presence as an NFL Hall of Fame Senior Committee Semi-finalist.

Kevin opened with more Daron Payne vs. Jon Allen talk. He put out a Twitter Poll today asking the question, “if you could only pick one….Payne or Allen”. The results were one-sided! Kevin explained why he thinks it turned out that way. Then it was Jay Gruden as a guest talking Sam Howell, Eric Bieniemy, the Payne/Allen debate, Dan Snyder, and lots more.

Kevin and Thom today eventually get to ESPN’s ranking of NFL defensive tackles which included both of Washington’s starters in the Top 10. Before that though, Kevin’s trip to Spain, Thom’s upcoming month in Spain, Sally Jenkins’ award-deserving piece on Evert-Navratilova and Dylan Crews to the Nats, The boys finished up with thoughts on the NY Times shutting down its sports section and the Wizards’ actual long-term plan.
