Kevin is away for a few days but recorded a few interviews for today and Monday. Walt Williams joins Kevin today to talk some Maryland hoops but mostly about, Walt Williams. He’s a local legend and a significant figure in the history of Maryland Basketball. He holds ACC records for average points per conference game and nobody has ever matched or exceeded his 8 straight 30+-point game streak. Was he ever tempted to transfer when Maryland was slapped with near death-penalty probation? He answered that. Walt’s NBA career included being on the same team with Charles Barkley and Hakeem Olajuwan. He talked about playing with both and the night Barkley’s career ended. Why did he wear his socks up to his knees? All this and more with Walt “The Wizard” Williams.

Kevin and Thom today w/sandwich talk to start which included reviews of the Monte Cristo, Croque Monsieur, and Hot Brown. The boys reviewed the NFLPA “Report Card” on the Washington Commanders and answered whether or not any real damage was done by it. Kevin recapped the Terps’ loss at Ohio State and the guys talked about whether or not anyone will ever match or exceed Wilt Chamberlin’s 100-point single-game record set 61 yrs ago today.

Kevin started the show discussing the flury of weekend news surrounding the sale of the Washington Commanders. Gary Williams was a guest on the show to talk Maryland’s big win yesterday over Northwestern. Kevin also discussed his first chance to see top Terps’ recruit Deshawn Harris-Smith play last night for Paul VI in the WCAC semis.

Cooley and Kevin today on Eric Bieniemy’s introductory press conference. Cooley talks about what his reaction would have been as a player listening to Bieniemy’s first remarks since taking the job. Before that, Cooley has a new coaching job out in Wyoming but it’s not what you probably think it is. He talks about his latest passion on the show today. The guys talked about the recent reports on the sale of the Commanders including one that broke from Fox Business News earlier this morning. They also discussed the story that Russell Wilson wanted Seahawks’ coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider fired when he was in Seattle.
