Kevin opened with an emailer suggesting that last year’s Commanders’ roster was better than this year’s. He talked Sam Cosmi contract extension and also addressed the story that broke regarding an employee of the team who trashed players, fans, Jerry Jones, and Roger Goodell. Santana Moss jumped on to preview the upcoming season and long-time local sports television producer Joe Yasharoff called in to talk about Francis Tiafoe’s quarterfinal win at the US Open last night.

Kevin solo today with his “Skins’ Top 5 Most Memorable Season Openers”. He also gave an overview of his thoughts heading into the first season in many years where Washington fans can legit dream of better days ahead. He recapped Maryland’s 50-7 win Saturday over UConn, Virginia Tech’s overtime loss at Vanderbilt, and much of the rest of College Football’s first full weekend.

Kevin opened with the Colorado-North Dakota state game and the incredible performances by Travis Hunter and Shadeur Sanders. He talked about Dan Quinn referring to new WR Noah Brown as a “dog” competitor too. Steve Suter/Terps Football Broadcast jumped on to preview Maryland’s upcoming season before tomorrow’s opener against UConn. Author Ian O’Connor who just wrote and just put out “Out Of The Darkness; The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers, joined Kevin to talk about the book. Kevin ended with his “Smell Test”.

Kevin and Thom today talking Commanders to start and in particular, the confidence in which Dan Quinn and Adam Peters seem to have heading into the upcoming season. Quinn has used the phrase “secret sauce” several times since being hired to describe an aspect of roster and team building which the guys delved into. They talked about the broadcast restrictions Tom Brady will have at FOX if he’s approved as a partial owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. The guys also talked Taylor Heinicke trade, told stories about teachers who had an impact on their high school years, and Kevin finished up with his first “Smell Test” pick of the year.

The big news of the day for the Commanders broke in the middle of the podcast today. So Kevin opened with a few emails and then got to the moves the team had made prior to adding Noah Brown. He opened the second segment of the show with the Noah Brown breaking news and gave his thoughts on the signing before he got to the Dan Quinn/Adam Peters press conference today. ESPN’s Stanford Steve was Kevin’s guest in the final segment of the show talking Commanders, Kliff Kingsbury, Jayden Daniels, and Steve gave his 12-team College Football Playoff picks. He also weighed in on Maryland and Virginia Tech’s upcoming seasons.
